Masterclass: Understanding Learning Difficulties in the Classroom

A masterclass that helped understand the impact of ‘learning disorders’ on a student’s ability to grasp and display the academic skills of reading and writing.

In a 31-year career, Champa Saha has taught at various schools across the country - St Thomas School for Girls, Delhi; St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Dehradun; Army School, Devlali; KLM International School and St Joseph’s School, Pathankot; Baba Farid School, Faridkot and Mayoor School, Ajmer.

In the process, she has set up teacher resource centres (language), conducted workshops for teachers and students on communicative language teaching, set up class libraries, counselled teachers in non-rote communicative teaching methodology, conducted workshops on adolescence education (for students & teachers) as well as on listening and speaking skills, integration of moral education and special education needs.

She has participated in Bookaroo Children’s Literature festival in Srinagar, Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bali and Ahmedabad. She has also conducted workshops as part of Bookaroo for special needs teachers in DPS Srinagar.
